Apparition

Sometimes when I close my eyes all I can see is her. She haunts my dreams and floats through my mind like a beautiful specter that I can never touch. She's infectious and intoxicating, but I'll never tell her that. She's everything I want, but nothing that I'll ever be able to have.

I've heard her say she's simple, I've heard her say she's plain, but she's anything but that to me. Where she sees flaws and things she wants to fix, I see curves and a figure that could kill. When she isn't paying attention, I can't help but watch how she moves, my eyes can't help but trace every detail like reading my favorite story and memorizing every line. The way her brown hair falls, the soft waves that form after wearing it up all day frame her face perfectly. Her illusive smile has a way of shimmering, it shows how brightly her personality glows. Then there are her eyes, amber and gold swirling together lit by the fire that burns within her and I can't look at them without aching.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if she knew, what she would say...for now I have her haunting me all throughout my day.

Note: This is a little imagery piece, and something I'm playing with for something much bigger I'm working on.
