Creature Of the Night '"Vivid"

Close your eyes, inhale deeply, and exhale slowly. That instant sense of calm that comes with that breath is a mere moment for me. On nights like this when I can feel the pull of the night, nothing can stop it.
There is just something about the feeling of the cool earth under my feet, the stillness of the night itself, and the intoxicatingly crisp yet almost damp smell that the air takes on.

If the skies are clear, I can see all the stars dusting an ebony canvas with there gentle shimmer.

If its warm enough, I can hear the crickets, peepers, and other critters as they start their nocturnal day. The hum of the night time word as it quietly awakens, building, growing, and always steady.

If I'm incredibly lucky, I'll see the lightning bugs as they make their way by me and momentarily illuminate the inky darkness.

Even the wind is different at night, stronger somehow, and making itself known both by sound and electrifying touch.

All these things captivate and draw me, but nothing more than the moon. Nearly full tonight, she touches the earth before me and as far as I can see with her radiance. Some might say that her silver glow leaves the world to appear cold and still, but to me it is captivating.

This is where I feel most alive. Surrounded by all of this, things take on a new essence. I feel brighter, stronger, more intense. I feel exhilarated, wild, and free.

In a word; I feel Vivid.
